Through innovation and experience, 2FA released its first product in late 2006. Designed to manage the lifecycle of multiple authentication devices, such as smart cards, biometrics, and one-time password tokens, 2FA Credential Manager changed the way the industry looked at legacy “Smart Card Management” systems. The product’s unique value was the ability to manage multiple authentication devices from a broad range of vendors, all from a single “in-house” console. That, coupled with its capability of being fully deployed in less than 10 minutes, instantly made 2FA Credential Manager the most logical product choice for strong authentication management.
Moving into 2009, 2FA Credential Manager has taken on a new challenge – ease of integration into existing infrastructure(s), and more specifically, physical access and identity management systems. In taking on this challenge, 2FA changed the name of 2FA Credential Manager to 2FA Maestro in order to solidify the product’s position as the orchestrator of 2FA’s strong authentication suite. Along with the name change, 2FA has introduced a new product called 2FA Allegro. Allegro is designed as a lightweight client application that addresses key authentication integration challenges. The product’s key feature is the ability to use broadly-deployed, passive, proximity card technology (commonly used for facility access) as strong authentication tokens used for logical access. This eliminates your need to deploy new card technology, providing significant time and cost savings. Additionally, 2FA Allegro is designed to address key challenges by eliminating standard user names and passwords for logical access and resolving the age old question, “How do I access my computer if I lose my card.”, via our “end-user” emergency access feature.
